Color Form: Light tan/cream base with distinctive dark brown to black jagged, lightning-bolt stripes. The “pink” name comes from a subtle pinkish or coral-colored hue on the body and sometimes the shell.
Diet: Herbivore / Algae Grazer. Feeds primarily on soft film algae, diatoms (brown algae), and biofilm. Will not eat healthy aquarium plants. Requires supplemental feeding (algae wafers, blanched vegetables) in pristine tanks.
Compatibility: Excellent with most peaceful community fish (tetras, rasboras, guppies, etc.), dwarf shrimp (Cherry Shrimp), and other peaceful snails. Avoid with snail-eating fish (Loaches, Pufferfish, large Cichlids).

Aquarist Experience Level: Beginner to Intermediate. They are easy to care for, but their requirement for stable, hard water makes them slightly more demanding than some other invertebrates for a true beginner.
